Deforestation figures might be good, too (not sure of the numbers, but something like "X acres of tropical rain forest are lost every hour" could give you a nice scary statistic)

Well your problem is that most AGW 'facts' are distortions.

E.g. The population of Polar Bears is not declining, but is stable at around 20,000-25,000.

This is way up from a low of 5000 in the 1950s when HUNTING drove them near to extinction.

So Polar Bears are neither declining nor endangered BUT you COULD say the number of Polar Bears per Cell Phone has fallen radically in recent times & be telling the truth.

Most of the people in here have no idea what they're talking about and some, not many, are outright liars. I'm not going to offer you the type of alarmist propaganda that you have included in your question regarding one cell phone and polar bears. i'll list some of the effects below:

- Changes in disease distribution and possible expansion.

As the planet warms disease carrying insects and other animals that live in the tropics will move to different areas where they find the climate the most comfortable. This could spell trouble for those that are unaccustomed to these types of animals and the diseases they bring. Some studies indicate that as the world warms certain insects lose their ability to spread these types of viruses on such a large scale. However, as stated, all that will occur under those situations is the insects will move to more comfortable climates and the diseases they carry will shift in area.

- Rising sea levels

Sea levels are currently rising at an average rate of 3.2mm/y if all known variables are taken into account. Over the next century these sea levels are expected to increase by about 1 meter or higher. The result, of course, being that the coasts of cities will see loss of land and those cities the are currently under sea level would be flooded if human actions do not alter the coasts through various technologies such as building dikes. Well there aren't many if any startling Facts about global warming. And that is because it is not happening. One startling fact, I suppose, is the sheer number of people that believe that we are doomed if we do not cool down the earth. The globe is not warming, global temperatures have flat-lined. Okay, so you want to create global warming propaganda using "vivid examples". Actually, I have a better idea. Here is a formula for creating your own propaganda:

1. Get a decent video camera

2. Find a large city or crowded area anywhere (e.g. the market)

3. Be prepared to be on your feet for a long time

4. Interview *willing* subjects (Legally, I believe one must ask permission of those videoed if it’s okay to broadcast their humiliating bloopers to the world electronically)

5. Ask simple questions to make people look dumber when they make a mistake.

6 Ask tough questions like is extreme weather related to climate change or are polar bears drowning if you start getting desperate.

7. Pay people to say and do stupid things if you’re getting more desperate.

8. Interview 200 people and pick 20 dim bulbs for editing.

9. Present your findings.

10. Post it on Youtube, Facebook, Myspace, your blog, and mass-email it as well.

11. Send it to all of your friends on Youtube and encourage them to place it in the center of their main page.

Note: If a random person says, “Hey that’s not fair, you interviewed 200 and cherry-picked the dumb ones to represent the cause…. just call them a “blind nationalist” (that's assuming they find out).

Be careful how you use the truth that I have included below. It could cost you your grade.

No one is denying that global warming (and cooling) is taking place. The +problem+ is that there bad decisions being made with information from the hysteria which is being created by the alarmists.

International Socialists like Gore are creating a false hysteria in order to scare the masses into giving up freedom and to submit to more government control, more “international” government control. Wake up, America! He who controls energy controls the world.

As Margaret Thatcher put it: global warming is proving to be “a marvelous excuse for international socialism.”

Global warming is indeed real and has been documented with ice cores dating back tens of thousands of years.

What is NOT real is the quackery that humans caused (or can even affect) global warming.

The scare tactics being perpetrated upon us are only a money/power grab scheme by bottom-feeder politicians accompanied by their so-easily-led sheeple who take their prattle, even their movies, as hard science..

Here is truth about global warming:

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.

The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.

This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.

Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is

becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).

As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).

When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.

It's been happening for millions of years.

The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.

As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.
