we will put a stop to gobal warming? And to your republicans who are too stupid to do anything, we contribute more than 4%. And even IF we did contribute only 4%, let's make it 0%.

And would it be a good idea to get a bunch of bands together to raise awareness about global warming and to try to stop it?

My friends and I have a band, and we know a couple other ones, we could put a show on maybe.

Great idea about the bands.

I trust you will have daylight concerts with acoustic instruments and bring the shows close enough to the concert goers' homes, that they will walk over to participate.

Better rethink that one, but keep trying, our planet is worth it.

i wanted to show AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH to my high school, but i'm almost certain it won't raise enough money to help organizations that are trying to prevent the effects of Global Warming. That, and no one will see it, so the school will lose time (and maybe money) showing it. However, if you can get loads of bands together, and play for free or something with no hassle, then go ahead.

Oh my Gawd!!!

Please, someone tell me where this Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland "Lets put on a show!!" mentality came from?!!

Are a bunch of third-rate bands, holding a concert in some park some where really gonna make a hills bit of difference about raising awareness of GLOBAL warming? I mean like will this raise awaremess on a global scale more than CNN or Fox news or MSNBC already has??

California puts out 1% of world wide C02. That's with 10 % of the countries cement plants, which produce a lot. India puts out 16% of the world's CO2. In California, it would be impossible to reduce C02 by 20% even if 1) all the trucks were removed from the roads and highways, or 2) all the cars were moved from the roads and highways, or 3) if all businesses were shut down overnight. Of course, if you did all three, you might even reach 30%.

If you can pay your dry cleaners to remove dirt from your suit why not pay 4% to undo the mess you have done to the globe which you rely on for rain, good oxygen etc.

Go ahead and put up the show but be sure you do not caurse noice pollution at the end of the day.
