"Forged letters to several Congressmen, purportedly from minority groups like the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, were apparently sent by Bonner and Associates.

Bonner, it seems, was doing subcontract work for another firm called the Hawthorn Group, which in turn was working for the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (A.C.C.C.E.), a group of companies involved with coal, including coal producers, utilities and railroads.

This question is particularly for opponents of the cap and trade bill. Does it bother you that the coal industry is funding the forging of letters in an attempt to get the bill defeated? Or do you feel like the ends justify the means?

It don't believe that lobbyist should be given the kind of influence they are given. Poiticians should be paying attention to letters from their constituents, if they want opinion.



So if a bill is a good bill, why would letters of support sway a congress person anyway.





This is just typical politics in this country. Hire a an outside contractor, when they get caught, deny everything.





There are financial interest on both sides driving the fight on cap and trade, I don't think it is about the science to any of them.





The coal industry is not our friend, they are self serving. I just don't want a cap and trade bill that kust makes more profit for bankers, politicians, energy producers and research and no-development companies.



The end does not justify the means.

Yes it does bother me that political action groups are acting like political action groups. I think it is way past time that we got rid of ALL political action groups.



As for being against a bill that will do nothing to change what is already happening, and actually cost the United States even more jobs I think that is a smart issue. Even in the United Kingdom, you have a small vocal group that is protesting against the "reductions" made in the United Kingdom since they are importing more of the goods.

Yes. If they did it I hope they are penalized in some way, though I'm not sure what they did was illegal. The ends never justify the means if you have to act despicably to succeed. I'm opposed to cap and trade but I believe in letting the system work and eventually it can be undone if it does pass.



I agree we need to move from fossil fuels to renewable, I just don't believe all the global warming predictions justify rushing into something which manifestly won't work. China and India won't join in so any reductions we make are meaningless but still very painful. It would be far better to spend that money developing alternatives we can use and that we can share with the developing world to reduce pollution. That's a much bigger problem than global warming in my opinion, and the disruption that the inevitable shortages in oil will cause might make wars over land seem tame.

The SUN is responsible for our weather and our Temperatures. The solar cycle which you can look up has HOTTER periods when SUN SPOTS are plentiful and then cycles into a COOLER period with fewer SUN SPOTS which started in 2008 and will last till 2030. Why the sudden change of name from Global Warming to Climate Change? Because the lie they rode all this years is over. Record cold June/July in Chicago, Nashville and across the country. Why? Because CO2 which is .0035 of 1% of our atmosphere has not and is not increasing our temperature. The sun did it. 1998 was the peak of SUN SPOT activity and Peak hot year and we have gone down hill. 2007/2008 the SUN SPOTS STOPPED as they were predicted to do following the cycle observed for hundreds of years. Now the SUN SPOTS did not return when expected and returned in fewer then expected numbers meaning an even cooler COOL cycle of the SUN. Don't believe me or the record ice in the Arctic last winter. Then go see Piers Corbyn who has for 25 years accurately predicted MAJOR weather events up to a year in advance using the true source of our weather the SUN. The lie is over and the truth is coming out. The truth is out and people need to stop listening to this junk science based on computer models that can't even get today's temps right using historical data and have been proven wrong on ice thickness by scientific trips to the arctic and antarctic.

Get real if an industry lies or cheats to keep its business going its nothing new. Every damn industry would do that, but if scientist are doing this on other hand to keep their jobs then its freaking shame.



Does it bother you that so called "scientist" are saying temperature are still rising when clear from lack of tropical depression, lack of rain in monsoon in india, missing el Nano, missing hurricanes from atlantic ocean that is not, every person complaining about low temperatures around the world? Low humidity levels in most of the coastal cities?

Look at all the money they are throwing at AGW without knowing if it is true or false! I dont really care about the letters because the government will do what THEY feel is best and wont be swayed by a letter.
