Short answer. They're two separate problems that have some small effects on each other.



Medium: The gases that deplete the ozone also cause a small part of global warming. Changes in ozone affect temperatures in the atmosphere, but not as much as global warming. Global warming causes changes in the climate that affect how bad ozone depletion is.

The ozone depletion theories of the 1990's tended to agree that CFC's take approx 15 years to reach the stratosphere then have an atmospheric life of 50 to 200 years. In the 1990's it was often claimed that even if we completely stopped using CFC's, the ozone layer would continue depleting for over one hundred years. Despite the fact that these CFC content of the stratosphere is aparently increasing, the ozone layer is inexplicably being regenerated.



Many people will never stop believing absolutely in junk science no matter what the observable facts indicate.

They are interconnected in that the ozone depletion scare was also promoted by Environmentalist "Watermelons" (Green on the outside and red on the inside). The ozone depletion scare started over 20 years ago; according to the conventional wisdom of the time, we were all supposed to have skin cancer or have to coat ourselves from head-to-toe before going outside by now. Just like the population explosion was based on junk science, so was the ozone depletion scare and the current "Global Warming" scam.
