draw on your poster a before and after picture of Earth of present 2007 and future 2050. draw Earth as it is, normal..for now.. then, for 2050, draw the Earth's land almost gone.



this is a fact. the world is warming up and the polar ice caps are melting. if this continues, in 2050, the earth will be flooded. this WILL show an idea to people who serious global warming can be.

Here's a thought, why don't you put a big question mark over the middle of the earth with the sun radiating out solar heat one side and car fumes covering the other half of the earth in a blanket of pollution.



Reason being, global warming has 2 camps of thought, one camp saying that damage is being done by us by the increase in CO2 which in turn increases the global temperature the other camp saying global warming is more related to solar activities from the sun and that past records show that CO2 has no significant bearing on temperature.



Which camp is right? Neither. There has not been enough study into the subject to give conclusive results, its only theory and conjecture at the moment, but the media has turned this into some form of hard and fast truth which is difficult to correct.



At the end of the day, which ever camp is right or wrong, thats not the issue, the issue is improvement of recycling, reusing, keeping your surroundings clean and litter free, walk instead of drive if possible etc etc.

I like Tom's idea. Stop the free flowing of taxpayer money to keep this myth alive and "global warming" will be a thing of the past really quickly.



Another idea is:



Show how Al Gore's house is not as energy efficient as Bush's house. Here's a link to the data: http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/house.asp.



This would show the hypocrisy of nuts like Gore. He tells us how we should live and then he uses 22 times more energy as the average person does.



Show a comparison on other politician's houses also. Like that monstrosity that John Edwards built recently. Also you could compare how many plane trips they take, wasting fuel. Like Hillary flew back and forth recently from several locations and even sent one plane home empty because it wasn't big enough for her. Her carbon footprint must be colossal.



This would make a great project to show how the people who scream the loudest about waste are the ones wasting the most.

Well i don't think we can stop global warming. But it is not too late to do something about it. Little things like switching your Tv off while you're going away, take showers instead of long baths perhaps can help. Our households account for 25% of emissions, and also power stations waste 2/3 of the energy they generate.



We also have to fly less. Air industry is growing 5% annually, the reason for that is the creation of new airline companies like EasyJet and Ryanair with cheap flights. If we really care about the environment we shouldn't fly so often. before these airlines people didn't have shortbreaks to another country. A single flight across the Atlantic consumes 140tonnes of carbon dioxide and 60,000litres of fuel (that's more than a motorist uses in 50 years of driving).



But I think governments don't take global warming seriously. For them there will always be the dilemma of Economy Vs. Environment. At the same time the EU has signed a new resolution about "the reduction of carbon emissions by 60% by 2050", it also signed the "Open Free Skies" agreement (which allowed more airlines to have flights across the Atlantis). I mean we are not stupid.



I strongly believe that we have to count on ourselves and try to pass the message to our governments that we want them to do something about it and stop playing with us. If everyone does something about it then the change will come. But if we sit and wait from our governments to take action, the worst are about to come sooner than we may expect them.



An idea for poster?? Hmm...Perhaps it could be George Bush ready to get on his plane while he is standing at the last iceberg left, and right next to it a picture of the earth without icebergs or of people dying from the floods that might have been caused by the melting of the ice.

Well, since the global warming phenomenon is fueled mainly by the need for scientists to continue receiving grant money, we can encourage the government to fund them for studies which contradict global warming; since scientists imagined the problem for money, they can unimagine it for money.



You could show this with a drawing of the Thinker and a thought cloud over his head with dollar signs and a globe over a candle and another thinker with a thought cloud over his head with dollar signs and a globe dripping icicles.



Wasn't the same atmospheric nonsense used in the 70's to scare us into thinking there was a coming ICE AGE?

I think on a poster it would be good to show "LOVE" between all the people. You could cut out different pictures of people from many different cultures and have them hug eachother and show them working together. This really has got to be a global effort.

Well, basically the carbon is used by plants in the photosynthesis. The living plants store it and it is released when the plant matter is burned.



Recently, a lot of prehistorical plant matter (-oil) has been burnt releasing their CO2 to the atmosphere.

if you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned,why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come with trash ,



we have done a lot of comunity cleaning and if you dont leave alternatives or try to work on peoples guilt feelings (some people actually have those ,but not many)

if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.



the protection of existing forrests.



stop building more highways,urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.



education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.



education on environmental awareness
